‘Safe Clubs’ Training for Welfare Officers, Regional Officers and Events Organisers

If you are an RO/events organiser/committee member then you are encouraged to attend one of these courses. The training is free and provides online sessions lasting 3 hours  to prepare you for reporting concerns and ensuring young people are kept safe within the PACGB.

There is no test or exam, it includes group discussions and scenarios and you will be provided with certification of attendance. Once you receive your certificate we ask that you send a copy to the Safeguarding Officer at the safeguarding address for our records. This is a voluntary request; should you have any objections to this please discuss with the Secretary or the Safeguarding Officer. The document will be electronically stored securely with only the Secretary and Safeguarding Officer having access. If you wish to have the information removed at any time please contact the relevant persons and this will be carried out. The purpose of this is to maintain a record of who has undergone the training and to enable PACGB to work towards Angling Trust ‘Safe Club’ accreditation.

Dates run throughout the year so check the website for updates. Sessions arranged this year so far are:

  • Monday April 20th 2026 6pm – 9pm
  • Tuesday May 19th 2026 6pm – 9pm
